@chafemasterj it's always nice to see the interesting finds you post. Never knew that counterstamped coins were a thing until I saw your thread. Thanks for sharing.

This pressed LMC really interests me. It was done by the PNC Society of Massachusetts. The image in the center of the reverse is of a grasshopper on a pin as if it was preserved by an entomologist. I've tried to research the society but to no avail. I discovered evidence of their existence here: But cannot find any other web evidence about them. (I found the Portugese National Club but they appear to just be a social club) This was done on a 1983 LMC... I wish it were on a copper cent the Zincoln seems to distract from the details...

Thanks Rothery. I did see that on ebay. I find it odd that a group that was around as recent as 1983 didn't leave any real online footprint. I wouldn't imagine that there are that many entomology clubs in Massachusetts. Maybe I should try something besides Google or Safari. The two I've tried so far.

I see one coin in that link that has the notation "Fanoil Hall" on the 2x2. The Faneuil Hall has quite a history going back to the Revolutionary times. The Spires on the 4 compass points of the counter stamp don't resemble that building.Further looking found a mention of the Patriots North Church (Paul Revere's signal tower) but the "society" connection is not apparent.
