Does Uncle Sam care about "defacing government property" or is it officially ok to counterstamp? Maybe, but that really doesn't seem to make sense. I hadn't noticed the extra lettering on the obverse until Rothery brought it up. It's the words GOD WE TRUST that are somehow transferred 90 degrees off on the obverse. Weird. Dennman Valued Member Canada 496 Posts	Posted 02/25/2021 3:34 pm It would appear that the stamping company had a Lincoln die mated to the different pressed patterns.I was wondering how the operation of pressing had not distorted (too badly) the Lincoln obverse.
