Hi
Could I have your opinion on the grade of these two coins.
And can anyone tell me what to do about the green corrosion. I have tried a bath of acetone ( about 3- 4 min) which helped with the PVC residue but not with this corrosion.
Should I keep it in the acetone longer?
Or should I use a coin of a lower grade but no corrosion in my collection?
Thanks

That degree of corrosion has eaten in to the surface of the coin. That is irreparable.

There would be corrosion pits under the green spots.
Moxking is right.

If you have a little virgin olive oil, put the coins in a lidded jar covering them with the oil. Place the jar on your radiator and let it sit for a while. At times I've let my similarly damaged US Large Cents and Canadian/British coppers sit until the heat's turned off. May leave a darkened area and you may need to nudge the remaining goo with a tooth pick but they look so much better and perhaps the area below is not damaged. Two things, find another heat source if you have forced hot air and make sure you get the VIRGIN.........oil.
