I'm not seeing a doubled die on this one. What I look for on the 1984 cents are doubled ears, notching on the tail of the 4, and the extra thickness towards the rim on LIB (like DDO-003). I'm not seeing any of this on your coin.

The tail on the G is stretched with a flared G (the pointy end that looks like a tail that is seen on Doubled Dies.). The R in trust if you look closely has a separation line on it. I compared this to another one that was normal from 1984 and the devices were clearly not the same size. This one has thicker devices. I am not throwing this coin in my spending pile until I know for sure.

Well, it doesn't match anything listed on varietyvista, coppercoins, or doubleddie.com.

I have to agree with Tanman David, no indication of any DDO. Those lines on R are on the you as well, looks like a slight hop/bounce MD not a hub deal.

Thank you Crazyb0. After looking under the loupe for some time and trying to find die markers, I thought it was 1DO-008, but didn't find die markers. Sorry about that guys. Sometimes, stuff can easily trick me. Didn't mean to waste your time hopefully. It must of been my eyes or mind.

It's never a waste of time. The lines you see on the R are common for me to fine, but only on the Zinc cents. I have to wonder if it doesn't have something to do with the plating.

Could easily be the plating since these years are notorious for plating issues since the U.S. Mint was having a ton of problems. [:) Quote:
David, live long enough you too will be changing your avatar to a name more appropriate I am still very young, only 18 years old. Eventually when it comes time, I will change my picture more suitable for my name. That Canadian cent with the Partial Indent error is still my favorite errors of all time (My favorite Canadian error and still my favorite out of all of my error coins).

The raised devices on these copper plated zincs tend to deteriorate from the middle outwards

I think the newer designs are more square on the tops verses the more rounded tops of years past. That may have something to do with the line.
