Jimminy cricket this evening I won an 1968 S FS-101 NGC68 for a whopping $205.00 with buyers fee $235.00 Somebody out there is mad as a wet hen and I bet its the seller. What gives out there in the die variety market? Once again In reminded to sure as heck not list coins in this market. I bid high on it $225 just to see if anyone was awake...bamm! Messed around and won it a coin with a pop of 2 PCGS, and 2 NGC. In not griping at all but what is going on when 7-800 dollar cents are going for 200? As I scratch my chin sure hoping the ones I have don't drop as bad. Haunt sold a coin I own but I'm crying crocodile tears for the dealers out there. Anyways wanted to share with the gang my glee over this one. I wanted one and was looking but in a lower grade I could afford in 64 or maybe 65. I haven't got it in my hands yet but when I do will attempt some closeups. Am trying to save for a 1992 Philly Close AM but have been distracted slaying a bunch of hard to get LMC die varietys for 35-60% book. I'm pretty pleasantly surprised by some of my proof variety pick ups recently both the 1960 proof FS-101 and FS-103 in 66 for under $120 each and a 1967 SMS MS66 cameo for $131.00. Poor mans delight out there right now, no way I could afford some of these variety 4-5 years ago. I hope my kids will know what to do with these LOL. Anyhow happy new year to all and tropicalbats find me some more 1966 FS-101's my goal is a bakers dozen. Crazybo wazzzup! Report this Post to the Staff

There's dealers and then there's me, what an outfit. I feel like Barney Fife with his single bullet. Back to the 1968 S proof DDO, can you imagine the bugger going for $205.00 I would have been disgusted to get a check for 200, I'm way too emotionally attached to each and every coin I own to sell. All I collect is Memorial die variety cents and when I started 20 months ago didn't have a plan. I made some retail purchases filling my 1909-1940 book and it ran me $2,300 because I didn't spend the time and effort nope wanted a full book NOW! Well you know a fella lives and learns...2 years later I'm smelling the coffee, markets way down cash is king and its time to buy. As usual I'm a slow learner harhar. Report this Post to the Staff
