i found my first star note today after about a month of searching my bills from change that is the good news the bad news is that it is ruined by a bank of america stamp on the front I will keep it anyways

Congrad. Question? Do you buy straps and look through it? If you don't, do it...its easier to find star notes that way. Sometimes you would note find any but sometimes you can find around 5. I started collecting paper money around a year and half and found around 200 star notes from searching through straps.

I suppose Ill give a tip away for a change. Hint most likely to find star notes in 2 dollar bills. Most people dont know banks have em.

I find a star note about every other month. In fact I have one in my wallet right now. I usually just spend them though. I've never seen a modern, circulated star note sell for much above face.

I have been checking straps of $2's and have found two Red Seals 1953 and 1963 and a 1976 Star. I like to call it Brick Hunting, similar to roll hunting.

I also received a $5 star note in change today from Burger King.

I just started looking for these in my girlfriends tips from work and have found 4 already. One is in really good shape others not so much, but still cool.

I found 4 or 5 stars out of 300 today and one crisp 1974 bill.
