I am really leaning towards a Struck Through as well - as soon as I saw your first image that is what came to mind not the die crack. We will need to wait on coop or another one of our great experts to help on this one. Really great find - Congrats Edit: @ Mark - It is so great of you to be putting yourself out taking care of the Ducks - when I lived in GA we had 2 and they were just amazing pets - both passed on naturally before we moved but what a cool experience to have ducks as pets. I am an animal lover through and through- dosen't matter what animal (unless I think it wants to have me as dinner). Glad there are others out there in the world willing to go the extra mile to help animals.

This is one the one of the funkiest spike heads I have seen - I can see now the progression of the die crack through the skull how far does it actually go? Very nice!!

I do agree that this is the weirdest "Spiked Head" Die Crack ever. Never seen one like this before.
Errers and Varietys.

Those are stress cracks, well all die cracks are the result of stresses and weakers points within the metal. This is resultant from attrition. Notice on your expanded set of pix, the beginning of the crack was that "J" shaped micro edge chip, that's the attrition and weak spot. Just so happens spider cracks like this one are not very deep, mostly surface areas and may even be removed upon next TouchUp.

If you have two exactly the same, then it would have to be a die crack. If these two images are of the same coin, then the jury is still out.
