1964-D LMC Unusual Rim Issue

I am used to seeing MAD effects where one rim is thick and the reciprocal azimuth position is thin or gone but look at this one...
On the Obverse the rim at 12 o'clock runs out without a corresponding thickening at 6 o'clock.
On the reverse the 9 o'clock position appears to be only slightly thicker (maybe) but otherwise looks normal.
Was the planchet cut undersize or is this just MAD?
