Hello everyone, I have been researching the Mexican 50 Pesos gold and have not come across any information regarding a separated tongue on the snake. Coin is exact dimensions, weight, color, stamp and pings correctly so I don't have any reasons to suspect a counterfeit but I thought this detail was unusual. Anyone else seen anything like this?

The first two pictures are of the whole coin, the third picture is a closeup of the snake's tongue and the last picture is a normal coin.

The pieces looks good... Congrats! Maybe just a small die break, but it kind of reminds me of this Morgan dollar!

Hey Thanks, I didn't think a die crack would omit a part of the design, I was used to seeing die cracks as irregular lines on the surface but maybe it is. Just thought it was weird that a whole portion of the tongue is not there. Wish it didn't have the two nicks on the obverse but still a very pleasing coin.
