hello all

I am trying to find the Krause page number for the 1960's or thereabout for the 1 tael, gold leaf-wafer, Vietnam, Kim Thanh Refinery Co, X# B1. I know I have seen in before in a catalog but I don't know if it was in my catalog or another. I have the Krause Standard Catalog of Modern World Gold Coins, 1801-present. The number may exist in the Krause catalog of UNUSAL gold coins or metals.

here is a picture of what it looks like. they are not that common or uncommon, from time to time there are on ebay like this one is... if you can locate it in my catalog if you have one, please tell me the page number (I already looked under Vietnam... not there). These came in a wrapper and seemed to be two versions... one that has some English on the wrapper and one that has all foreign words on it. If it is not in my catalog, a scan of the page of the catalog it is is would be greatly appreciated... thanks... mike

As far I know all the X-numbers are only in Krause Unusual coin books. Some older normal editions may have it also but not the newest ones.

thanks eurocoin for your reply. my catalog does show some "X" listings, such as from Venezuela pages 749-753, from Vietnam and China, however, to back up your point, this series is not in the 2018 edition, problably because it is more of a medal or medallion than a coin, but Krause had listed it those in my catalog possibly because it is so coin-like in appearance, more so than any medal or medallion I've ever seen before and it comes in bolivares values, however, this is determined or based upon by the gram weight on the coin only, the coin itself does not list the bolivares value.

So if any of you have the Krause catalog of UNUSUAL WORLD GOLD MEDALS OR COINS, please scan if possible if you find it there and list it here.

btw, if you come across a 1959 Venezuela gold Adolf Hitler medal in the "Chiefs in the second war" series that weighs 11.7 grams, I WOULD BE MOST INTERESTED IN SEEING THAT AS WELL!

thanks... mike

whoops, I was describing another item that is the Venezeula medal in the first paragraph, not the Vietnam gold tael sheets that the Krause X# B1, which that number is for. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! A scan of the page showing that number/tael would REALLY be greatly appreciated! I have had NO luck in identifying the Venezuela medal in any catalog or on the web except for others like it in different weights and bolivares value and have pretty much given up on that one (mine is 11.7 grams 22k gold), so I am just trying to get a scan of the X# B1 gold tael sheets...

thanks... mike
