Seems like there are a fair number of railroad enthusiasts on our new sub-forum, so I thought I'd give a shout-out to a resource that should be of interest -- the Coxrail database:

Terry Cox is the author of "Collectible Stocks and Bonds from North American Railroads" the pre-eminent catalog in this field. I've corresponded with him for more than 10 years and finally got to have lunch with him at last summer's
ANA show in Denver. He's a good guy.
His catalog provided the basis for what would become the database. Instead of printing further editions, he has posted the information for free. He enlists the volunteer help of collectors and dealers to ferret out information and images. At last count, the database included nearly 28,000 certificate varieties of stocks and bonds from almost 25,000 different companies. There are more than 15,000 viewable images online. This is all accessible using a simple search engine.
