Hey everyone! I'm brand new to the forum and brand new to collecting pennies. I started collecting pennies after I got a job at a bank and saw some really neat coins. I get a unique opportunity to find rare coins within my work. After coin hunting through some penny boxes I found two unique things that caught my eye. The first one is a 1972 D that has a larger rim (I know pretty common) however it looks like the rim has struck twice. Here's some pictures. I also have a 1959 D that seems like some dust got stuck to the press and created a defined tie sort of shape around Lincolns neck. I'm hoping to get some understanding on what my coins could be worth. Also I'm looking for any suggestions and feedback on coin collecting and my posting! Thank you everyone!! I too have seen those extra large rims on coins. Never did find out what they are from.

Thank you both for the reply. Those thick rims always catch my eye since I have a tough time finding double dies and what not haha. Thank you for the feedback as well. Here are a few pics I hope they are better.

Please rotate your pics so the top of Lincoln's head is at 12:00 - as if you were looking at it straight on. to the CCF!

Thank you Bobby! After looking through the forum further I see others with similarities but not in that location or extent. Not too sure what to do with the coin if it is rare or worth something.

It is worth saving as an example but it does not carry any premium. keep searching. We have folks report neat finds here almost every day.
