Hi all, I came across this medal some time ago and was wanting to know if anybody had any info on its release/ composition/ value/ weight and measurements. It looks as though it may be Bronze.
I have had a look through a couple of piles of my medals but can't find it, so thought I would try here and see if someone could help out.
Thanks in advance, Mark.

G'day, this isn't my area. The medals presented to athletes have some feature to permit them to be suspended from a riband, in order to be worn. Your immaculate medal has no such feature: so I'm thinking it's a commemorative.
I wonder if the letters "BCG", immediately below the crown, are a repetition of the words "British Commonwealth Games", or if they have a separate meaning ? If so, are they a clue to the origin of the medal ?

Hi Peter thanks for your reply. Yes, it's not an actual Athletes bronze medal, should have worded that heading better.
The reverse design is the official Edinburgh Comm games design from 1970, so is definitely a commemorative.
Managed to find some info on the net, is a 38mm medal, and came in a set with a Sterling silver, copper and gilt metal versions, 38mm each. Each medal was boxed, and issued by Gregory & Co.
Looks like I will have to go and find the other 2 now, lol.
Still can't find any info on pricing though?
