Ran into this fake dollar yesterday. I picked it up at the coin show as an educational piece and just for being as silly as it is. 1843 Seated Liberty dollar obverse with a medal turn reverse. Reverse is a San Fran mint Trade dollar reverse. As many of us know, Trade dollars were not minted until 1873 the Dies look very deceiving. Sounds like there could be some silver content and only weighs 19.3 grams Reverse Die is heavily doubled similar to 1878-s DDR FS-801 and the edge reeding is clearly fake. Oh and before I forget.... The magnet sticks! Ill attach some images

Interesting, but impossible and very obvious fake. I would pay as high as $3 (but no more) for this one, to include in my educational 'black' collection.
From these pictures, this coin does not look deceiving to those that have collected fake coins for many years.

nice. also the san francisco mint was not established until 1854 after the outbreak of the california gold rush. another marker of the historical absurdity of this piece. regretfully, not all counterfeiters are this clueless.
