OK so there is too much leg there to be a 3 1/2 leg... it does look different than others I have of the same year and mint... the coin is worn but that seems to be kind of a protected area to be "naturally worn" like that... (I said "seems" ....meaning seems to me) I have not looked at many coins other than Morgan and Peace dollars.... I know I have a lot to learn...
THERE IS A LOT of info in those downloads (especially vol 2) I was "flipping through" them ...all I can say is THANKS for putting that together... I really appreciate when someone takes the time to "Teach me to Fish" (along with handing me a few fish along the way so I don't starve before I learn!)
DD check out the wealth of knowledge by using the general site search here...old threads will usually answer most any question. Here's a pic of a higher grade 3 1/2 leg, notice what is and isn't there...now imaging true where the die was polished away to begin with.
BTW, I just Googled this image, you'd be surprised just how many come from here to begin with!
