SP-66. There's a lot of great detail and barely any dings.

Fields are virtually perfect, but I can't see the portrait well enough to judge that area.
Rest in Peace

Portrait seems to have some issues . I wouldn't buy this piece as an SP-66 .

Here's "The Rest of the Story" (RIP Paul Harvey). This coin was the first (I think) coin I bought on ebay. It was in a basement slab marked "1966 P SP70". Not knowing anything about third party grading, and thinking one was as good as the other, I placed the winning (and only) bid. IIRC, I paid $4.

The auction description contained a very compelling story about a down-on-their-luck family with insurmountable medical bills forced to sell everything that wasn't nailed down. I'm a cynic at heart and don't usually buy sob stories, but being a noob I bid anyway. At the time, I couldn't tell the difference between an SP70 and an AU58.

In any event, I recently moved and found this slabbed coin in my closet among things long forgotten. I took one look at it and realized it wasn't even in the same universe as an "SP70". Whether it's SP65, or SP66, I didn't get burned. I hope my $4 helped that family, or at least gave some satisfaction to the huckster, if that was the case.

Thank you everyone for your input.
