Hello, I have this 1953 five cent and I think it is the near leaf but am not sure. I believe it is the NSF variety because of the flared I's. Your opinions on variety and grades would be appreciated. Thanks

Well, if you look at the picture, it sure appears to have a shoulder fold .. or else she got grazed with a bullet there. What else would you call the creases there?

It is the Far leaf, No Shoulder fold variety.
To answer okiecoiner's comment there even NSF can have a shoulder strap or fold it's just that the original didn't strike well, something about it being too high relief that the center portion didn't strike well making the shoulder straps as well as other center details weaker or non existant. This and wear is why we use the flared lettering to determine NSF or SF variety. The mint later corrected it making it lower relief and strengthening the strap and the hair details.
