This one caught my eye. Pic does poor justice to strength of the Memorial corners that also show when it's turned upside down. Do these things have any value? I have several from 1974 but this is the first zinc cent I have encountered with a decent clash.

Can you post a pic of the reverse? There may be clash marks there. The knowledgible ones will be better able to give you an idea as to it's value.

A good "prisoner cent" will go for ten bucks pretty regularly as people like them and they are neat looking. If the clash is something rare and catches the eye of those who collect clashes then it might go as high as $25. So a pretty solid premium on these.

Thanks folks. Now wouldn't it be a beauty if it was the RDV-006 with doubled ear on obverse ? Now that would be a keeper. I can't spot any clash marks on the reverse so didn't load a pic. of it. I will keep this one and maybe slab it in ANAC when I send in a batch. I also found a 1972 D DO-001 in the same brick. With an android its just not possible to get a decent picture. It might be late die state as the motto is fuzzier than the other 2 I found last year but still shows strongly on the 2 of date and LIB of Liberty. Not much premiums on the 1972 D but I bet one in MS Red would be a keeper. All 3 are XF to AU-50. Funny thing these are so rarely listed at auction in MS.

I would like to think this 72-D DDO-001 is what you are talking about. Also note that this one is in stage C so shows the die clash above the Y in LIBERTY. There is more clash on the right of Lincoln but doesn't show up in the photo from this lighting angle.

Dang TropicBats that 72 D is killer in MS. Nice to see the strength of the doubling before 40 years of circulation. The problem with learning how to spot and identify the hundreds of minor varietys in the LMC series is the better I get the more unruly and unorganized my collection is. I found also a 1976 D DDO and a 1961 DDO in low AU and was jumping around showing me friend, she replied I don't see any difference. I appear to her as a mad penny scientist's assistant LOL. I wonder how many minors I have chucked because I didn't know what I was doing my first year? Love your pics. T-Bat.
