After ranting about Barber Half, I can't believe I got one after 6 months

Currently, ebay is offering 20% off up to $50 on David Lawrence auctions. This means that a coin that cost $250 can be purchased for $200.

http://stores.ebay.com/David-Lawrence-Rare-Coins

I offered $325 on $385 Barber Half, AU53 PCGS, and automatically accepted. At Paypal checkout, $325 - $50(max) = $275 paid for Barber Half. A great looking coin at a great price, IMO.

This 20% off offer expires 2/20. (PRESDAY) at checkout.

Congrats. Can you post pics of the coin you bought?

I do recall asking this seller some questions at one point. I believe he sells a number of coins on consignment, so that is why there may be limited wiggle room on BIN sales...he's selling for others.

I just purchased a SLQ from this dealer. I'll chime in on what condition actually is compared to coin in hand when it arrives.

I purchased a coin from M. Barr. Coins. I am satisfied with it, and it looked better than the images posted by the seller.

I clicked on their page but I don't see anything that says 20% off. Was that a one day flash sale?

One a side note, I'm not surprised DL would be offering discounts. The reserves on their coins for the series I follow have been ridiculous during the last few months.

Mike,
If you click below link, it gives you info on 20% sale which ends 2/20 8pm. The code is PRESDAY at the Paypal checkout.

If you scroll down, you will see participating sellers, and David Lawrence is #35.

So theoretically for items that have both a "Buy-It-Now" and "Best Offer" option, the seller can accept a best offer lower than the buy-it-now price, then you could still enter the discount code?

Thanks for the heads up on this, everyone!

Picked up a PCGS VF-20 1897-S Barber Half from this seller and saved $110 from the original buy-it-now price. Good find!

I have bought many coins from him. In fact, I have four half dollars in the mail from him right now. He is a good seller. The pictures make the coins look worse than they actually are. If I am going to buy a barber half, it will probably be from him. Good prices, good product

Bought this one most recently from him. Although his photography skills are lacking the description is spot on. In hand a definite AU, un-cleaned.
