Possibly a prutah of Herod Archelaus, Hendin 1196.

Without seeing the reverse I completely agree with Bob - Herod Archelaus, Ethnarch of Samaria, Judea, and Idumea, 4 B.C. - 6 A.D.

If it's legible it will likely be the crested helmet of the Hendin 1196. Hopefully Joe will post it so we may confirm.
