Actually it is an "IIB". A "BIE" would have the chip between the B and the E. That being said I guess "BIE" could be a generic term for a chip anywhere in LIBERTY.

Yes, an "associated BIE" is a break between letters other than B & E or before L & after Y. More specifically, it is an IIB, or LDB3-.

Sorry, not an "associated BIE". An associated LIBERTY Die Break is a chip/break that is above highest or below the lowest levels of the letters.

Both Cohen and Hardy list associated Die Breaks/Chips with an "A".
