The reverse of this coin is a bit off-center, but I believe that the mint mark is there beneath the two figures. Any help and/or comments about the mint where this coin was made would be greatly appreciated!
Yes, the mint mark is beneath the two figures (the exergue). It is either ALEA or ALE delta, and is from Alexandria. If you measure your coin, you might be able to narrow the I.D. down a bit-- RIC VIII Alexandria 44 (21-22 mm) Alexandria 80 (16-19mm) Alexandria 82 (15- 17mm)
Thanks, Victor! My coin is in fact 18mm, so it is Alexandria 80. But what does Alexandria 80 indicate? Is it a specific area within Alexandria, or is it a certain time period during Constantius II's rule, or does it indicate something else entirely?
