See above or below Now, for all you non-Knights out there, if you collect foreign coins, we would like to hear from you! Our requirements for acceptance into this organization are pretty simple! You MUST own an Australian coin, you MUST collect foreign coins from another nation other than your own (Darksider), you MUST enjoy sharing the knowledge and histories of the coins and countries collected (Ambassador of the Darkside) and FREQUENT this forum on a regular basis! More information will be forthcoming as the Jan. 15, 2006 release for the wooden dollar approaches.

Dang it...I collect from ALOT of other countries. I just don't have any from down under. What would one suggest as a good starter coin from the place where the water drains counter clockwise? lol

wrk4lvg I would suggest you contact Bigfella and get yourself a nice Kookaburra or a Mob or Roos! The Kookaburra is SILVER so it should always have some value for you and the Roos can be purchased in a metal like the Sackie or in silver. Also the lunar series is outstanding with the 2006 silver already released. A check on Australian coins on ebay can put Aussie coins in your hands pretty darn quick but actually buying if from someone in Australia makes it special and stimulates their economy which all those folks from Down Under claim they really appreciate. You can go to the Australian section and have a look see at a great number of Aussie coins as those boys just KEEP TEMPTING us weak coin fanatics up here! Let us know when you latch onto that Aussie! We will be waiting!

Everyone welcome MIKE as our newest member of the Coin Table! He has agreed to uphold our rigid standards and live by the code of coin chivalry! (Opened his home to provide shelter, warmth and security to every wayward coin that crosses his path, regardless of its country of origin or mint mark, and to treat them with love and respect, wherever he may be for the rest of his life). Yes, being a Knight is a tough challenge, carrying for so many, in an effort to preserve the history, culture and coinage of the world for generations to come and he (Mike) has been added to our list and we expect to hear more from this Darksider very soon! Welcome Sir Mike!

Thank you one and all. I will do my best to uphold the very high standards set forth by the Knights! I am waiting for my 2006 Edition of Macca's along with my 2006 Fauna Series 1/10oz Gold Crocodile followed in about four weeks by the Gold Dog coin. I already have started a collection of Kooka's as well as the Lunar series. I worked for 14 years at the International House at the University of Chicago and collected coins from all over the world from students that lived there. My Daughter shares this passion as well. Again Thanks to everyone! Old Knight #4, also known as Mike!

I have a lot of pocket change lying around. My apologies I meant to reply to this and edited it by accident. Rachel can you readd whatever I might have deleted thankx

Yes, our rigid requirements don't take long to fulfill!!! The whole idea, at this time, is to tie the darksiders together so we know exactly WHO they are and have a ton of fun while doing it! Down the road we hope to continue to share our knowledge, photos and trading opportunities to any and all who will join us. I also see the opportunity to save a few bucks now and then by placing bulk orders for items we all would like to have. One thing is for sure, more will be coming as soon as we can work out the details, and you sure can't beat our membership fees! Some day we may become a universal household word---who knows? Shoot everybody in the world now knows what a darksider is and it all happened right here at CC!!!
