Just a quick update on the first annual Knight of the Coin Table limited edition wooden dollar. After mind exhausting "seconds" of thought the reverse of the upcoming, soon to be released, 2006 wooden dollar will read "World Wide Collector" instead of the previously announced "Collecting World Wide" as this should make this unique undertaking just a little more personal and help explain why you have the dollar! Hope this suits all you Knights out there?

Now, for all you non-Knights out there, if you collect foreign coins, we would like to hear from you! Our requirements for acceptance into this organization are pretty simple! You MUST own an Australian coin, you MUST collect foreign coins from another nation other than your own (Darksider), you MUST enjoy sharing the knowledge and histories of the coins and countries collected (Ambassador of the Darkside) and FREQUENT this forum on a regular basis! More information will be forthcoming as the Jan. 15, 2006 release for the wooden dollar approaches.

At this time each Knight will receive his/her first wooden dollar as a gift from the Realm of the Darkside with their official membership/serial number. We will also make arrangements to sell extras if you need them or auction higher serial numbers as needed to provide income for the next wooden dollar in 2007 or a special commemorative dollar should the need arise in 2006. One never knows what we will do next, so stay tuned, as other items are currently in the planning stages! Keep those Darkside Collections growing!

Sir Richard your request shall be granted! Just remind Gary and I before the release date!

Lim118 do you want wooden nickels or dollars down there?

And, my friends, just remember I am NOT an artist so you are stuck with this 2006 wooden dollar as it is. Perhaps the 2007 will be much better, with more meaning, and by a REAL artist?

Actually I meant to say "do they have wooden dollars down there" as they are quite common here as advertising tools! None the less we will be putting some wooden dollars in Australia and I intend to place them in airtites to protect the UNC. finish (if there is such a thing in wooden dollars). Reckon one of the big 4 grading services will grade them for me?

I would also like to nominate another outstanding forum member and foreign coin collector to join us and that would be Shatsi if she would be kind enough to be the second lady collector to become a Knightess (is that what we are calling our female members?) There is not a doubt in my mind that Shatsi has fulfilled all the requirements as a Knight of the Coin Table as an Ambassador of the Darkside! Her collecting enthusiasm is second to none and many here have had dealings with this young lady. If she accepts she will become #10!

Good work Terry!

I certainly agree that Shatsi is a deserving member-to-be.

The wooden dollars sound great. Knowing you, I'm sure you are much more excited about them than you are about the up-coming Presidential issue.

Again, good work!

Please join us Shatsi- we need another "chick" around here! These guys can get out of control! So, do you already have a number for me or can I pick? If I can pick I want #38 (my Nascar driver's # ), if not anything is OK.

Re-read the very first post here in this thread and go from there! It is really a long story (actually a joke)and has been a lot of fun and now we are moving forward as ambassadors of world coin collecting. We are stimulating Australia's economy, starting world wide collections and uniting to share knowledge, history and culture plus doing a little trading, buying and selling all in the name of good clean fun!!! And, we are learning who has what and why and the whole time our new Aussie friends are killing our wallets! If you collect world coins you are welcome to enter our Realm!!!

Kyra we will save #38 if that is what you prefer and as long as we stay together and issue new wooden dollars the number will remain yours! Make sure and remind us prior to the Jan. 15th release date.

Gary! Are you keeping track of these number requests ole buddy? Oh, I probably forgot to tell you about your new job as SCRIBE and TREASURER didn't I? (Added the treasurer part to make it sound interesting) Start scribing!
Rest in Peace

"Actually a joke." No, I don't think so!

A scribe? Of course I will savor the appointment. In fact, as a Sports Editor for 38 years now, it falls right into what I do. I shall get busy on it, and let you know the results. And, keep track hence forth.

Regarding the numbering system, I propose that requests be granted. Otherwise, the number assigned should be the number in which you entered Coin Table status. Terry certainly is deserving of No. 1, and I feel I should be No. 2.

I will get back soon with the results of my scribing. Meanwhile, I'm going to insert some Kookaburras into their temporary resting places.
