I bought my gram scale at a gas station next to the "tobacco pipes" lol I paid like 5 bucks or something it only goes to tenths but has worked for me for the price

Best ones go down to 0.001 but cost a bit more than the ones that go down to 0.01. Testing for silver vs clad,try the tissue test also weight. To tell fakes from real,lots of research and a magnet to tell if it is silver or base metal.

Depends upon how precise you want to be.

The one I use to get rather precise coin weights goes down to 0.01 oz (0.001 gm).
But I believe I paid over $100 for it.
And it only goes up to 6 ozs.

I have a klunkier one that I use for weighing packages for mailing.
Goes up to about 30 lbs and only cost about $30.
