Testing for silver vs clad,try the tissue test also weight. To tell fakes from real,lots of research and a magnet to tell if it is silver or base metal. The one I use to get rather precise coin weights goes down to 0.01 oz (0.001 gm). But I believe I paid over $100 for it. And it only goes up to 6 ozs. I have a klunkier one that I use for weighing packages for mailing. Goes up to about 30 lbs and only cost about $30. Report this Post to the Staff
