The Royal Mint - It's here, the day has come and we are so excited to finally introduce to you the Great British Coin Hunt, Quintessentially British A-Z! From the Angel of the North to the red-chested Robin, an English Breakfast to the perfect brew - we have used the alphabet to map out the A-Z of what makes Britain great. And, for the first time ever, we have struck commemorative designs on a 10 pence piece!

Official Great British Coin Hunt Range

Shop the Quintessentially British A-Z.

The Quintessentially British A-Z series also celebrates two anniversaries as 2018 sees the heart of our nation, the NHS, turn 70 and the Angel of the North turn 20. As well as the more everyday items, such as the Postbox and Double-Decker bus, the Great British Coin Hunt also acknowledges some of the UK's most astonishing scientific and technological achievements - W is for World Wide Web, representing Tim Berners-Lee's invention of the internet, and G is for Greenwich Mean Time, celebrating our country's naval history and establishing a global timescale.

So, with 26 new designs to collect from your change, how many will you find? Enjoy the thrill of the hunt, wherever it takes you by downloading the Great British Coin Hunt app, available from the Apple App Store or Google Play. And don't forget to keep us up-to-date on your #CoinHunt on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Good luck!

And if you just can't wait, all 26 designs can be added to your collection straight away, available in both "unc" and Silver Proof. Shop the Quintessentially British A-Z.

For more information on the 26 different coins, including the choice of designs, check out the Great British Coin Hunt FAQs.

For the numismatically mature, frivolous.
Most of the Public don't pay much attention to coins, anyway.

Could be very useful for kids to begin an interest in coin collecting.
A decade or so later, some of the kids may become numismatically mature.

I consider myself to be numismatically mature, but I would also be silly enough to collect them from pocket change.
