I got this as a filler for my 7070 until I can find a better one - then, on close inspection, could not find any traces of a G. At least nothing that I could definitely say was part of a G. The rim is still evident on that part of the coin, so it isn't just that the letter's been worn away.

Die error? Weak strike? Or just an ODity on a worn-out coin?

Probably Struck Through Grease. Looks just visible to me, incidentally.

Nice die crack going down from the S, by the way! Is it rim-to-rim?

Grease maybe, but worn more likely.

Grease fill. Common on Shield nickels.

Yes - Looks like it runs through the S down to about 4:00 - just opposite the arrow.
