I am new to searching for errors and varieties, and I am seeing a lot of things that look promising, but I then usually find out that they're no big deal. But if I don't ask, I don't learn.
I have several 1957-D LWCs with similar defects - all have what appears to my untrained eyes as a filled-die on the inner-top side of the 9 in the date.
One example also has a filled area in the 5, between the top horizontal bar and the top of the curve. (1st photo.)
Some of the examples also have the lower loop of the B in LIBERTY filled, and on the example attached (2nd photo), the spacing between the letters is not even. LIBER have wider spacing than RTY. Not sure if this is anything unusual.
The letters of IN GOD WE TRUST are relatively sharp, for the condition of the coins, and evenly spaced, as are the letters on the reverse.
Is there a listing of such filled-die varieties, or are filled-dies so common, especially with '57-D's, that there's no interest?
