The letter E stands for English breakfast, I have NEVER had beans on a English breakfast,I have checked all dictionaries & they do not include BEANS as part of an English breakfast.I have contacted The Royal Mint on the subject & I am awaiting a reply.

I worked in the Little Chef during holidays and whatever while at college and university and yes, the English Breakfasts had beans on them.

I'm a vegetarian so I'd never eat one, but I've seen thousands of these being made.

You can't define a Full English Breakfast because different places make them differently.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_breakfast

"A full breakfast is a breakfast meal that typically includes bacon, sausages, eggs and a beverage such as coffee or tea."

Fine, beans aren't the main source of what makes an English Breakfast and English Breakfast, it's the meat. Doesn't mean other stuff stops it being an English Breakfast.

On a yahoo image search of "Full English Breakfast" the first 14 searches have beans on them, 15 doesn't, 16-45 have beans on them.

Sorry, but an English Breakfast can have beans on them.

"Ingredients

16 good-quality sausages, scored lengthwise
1 pound bacon
2 pints cherry tomatoes, halved
4 cans heinz baked beans
8 slices granary or whole wheat bread
1 stick butter plus 5 tablespoons
1/4 cup maple syrup
16 button mushrooms, trimmed
1/4 cup olive oil
salt and pepper"

Here's an ingredients list from the first one.

Very curious.

I also contacted the Mint; I wonder whether either of us will get an answer.
