is the nickel in a silver proof set have silver or is it the same as a reg proof set how do you tell the difference

The nickel is still CuNi, no Ag, just dime,quarter,half in a silver proof set, then there's the clad proofs, same cent/nickel all the way.

Too bad for the inflated prices they should make the cent gold and nickel solid silver!

The nickel in my silver proof set is indeed silver.
The nickel in my regular proof set is plated steel.

"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Once again, the Canadians do something we cannot figure out how to do ourselves.

The US silver proof sets have the same cent, nickel, and dollar coins that the US clad proof sets have. If you buy both sets you will have duplicates of the non-silver coins.

I always thought it would be cool if they did a 35% silver in the proof sets. Similar to how they did it with the cent in the 2009 proof and UNC sets going back to being copper. Maybe they will do that in 2042 or something to commemorate WWII.
