i found this in a roll of pennies, I got from the bank, not sure what to make of it.
Ive searched the web and found no info.
its a 1991 Lincoln Cent, silver in color. it also has what seem to be a strike-over on all letters in the word state on reverse.

No one can really tell with any certainty what you have until a pic is posted and a weight would help as well. A normal 1991 cent will weigh 2.5g

Sorry No pics yet. Camera on the blink.. Will try and post asap.
here is the scoop so far. Weight 2.53 grams. and still the question concerning strike over on the letters in state on reverse. Unlike the pic of the one that had been in lemon juice, this one really, really shiny and no color of copper at all anywhere.
thanks for all the replies.. again will try and post a pic soon. May be able to borrow buds camera.
PS> dont belive it to be an a dime planchet.. it is the exact size of penny and full stike.
Look forward to the replies..
thanks!

It could also just the classic plating "error" where zinc dissolved in the plating bath sticks to the surface instead of copper, fairly common.

My guess is that it has been plated, (likely chromed ) which will make it look "silvery'. The weight, also indicates a possible "chrome job". A picture would help.

This is the same pic you just used in your 1942 Wheatie Error post. Perhaps you uploaded the wrong one.

I'm interested to see your 1991 cent even if it is a relatively common error.

again a mistake on my part. I used postal scale when weighing it the first time. I know newbies what can they do right, any-who, a friend clued me in on the accuracy of postal scales(no matter how expensive they are $49.99)and allowed me to use his digital scales(under supervision of course).the digital scale put it at 2.4887grams. I will try not to pretend I know what I am doing until I do. Sorry for the wrong info. I hope this mistake will not sour our relationship.
