Super clean 1997 d nickel, fullsteps. Is it in good condition to get graded?

In a word,no. Way too many hits. Also,I don't think it is as big a deal to have full steps on a modern nickel.

It's an AU coin and I don't think it has full steps, bottom middle has a flat spot.

Absolutely not ... doing so will cost you way more than this coin as viewed by your photographs is worth.

It might be MS ... but the bag hits obviously shown on the obverse and the lack of full steps ... as suggested above ... make this a coin that any dedicated roll searcher can find for 5 cents.

Save your TPG money ... keep searching.

MS-62. Do not send it to be graded.

I'm going with an MS grade on this, not AU. Tons of detail in hair and great detail in Monticello on reverse. And looks like great luster.
But way too many "hits" on the check/face on the obverse and in the fields on the reverse to grade above a low MS..
Agree with a grade of about MS63 tops...
Also, would need a close-up of steps, and they look pretty clean, but agree that FS is not that big a deal in the newer issues, although could be a big help if it was a pristine (MS69/MS70) coin.
Agree with not getting graded - save the money and buy more raw coins.
Keep posting and keep looking.
Also, I highly recommend the grading books: "Grading Coins By Photographs 2nd Edition Edition
by Q. David Bower" (the spiral-bound 2nd edition) and also "Official ANA Grading Standards for United States coins (Official American Numismatic Association Grading Standards for United States coins) Hardcover - August 13, 2013".
Use them both together and you will really learn what to look for.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Michael
