This is my 1883 CC Morgan dollar, your's looks fine to me. mine is a GSA NGC MS65. In 1883, I'll bet they looked the same. Great Coins in any condition !

F15 and close to VF. Obverse holds it back - reverse is better.

I think it's legit if that's what you were after.

It's got that classic Chinese fake toning though. That's what made me think.

On the fakes - the rims and denticles look new while the rest of the coin has worn features - yours looks to be evenly worn.

That look had me thinking fake at first but it looks ok when checking the details.

I picked up this morgan that had the Chinese counterfeit look awhile back from one of my pawn sources. But it passed all the tests. The magnet slide test, the ping test, weight and diameter test and even the electronic metal composition test. So there's no other conclusion to draw other than it's legit. You would probably need to have to coin inhand to be somewhat certain.

F15 sounds good for the OP's 1883 CC. That NGC GSA looks MS63 details Rim Damage to me.

Quote: That NGC GSA looks MS63 details Rim Damage to me. I do not see the rim damage. That is part of the GSA holder. I think MS-64.
