Hi! I'm new here! I inherited this Whitman 5 coin set. I was told it is a proof set by a person running a coin shop but he did not take a close look. After all of the articles I have read I feel that the yellow finish on the half count and lack of mint p d or s suggest otherwise. Can you guys please tell me what you think? Thanks! *note: the coin is in plastic so it may be a little fuzzy.

Sharper and larger pics would be necessary to grade this coin accurately.

Please let me know if these are better.
The coloring is not clear but it does have a yellowish halo and does not resemble the look of a proof.

1964 proofs would not have a mint mark, so that alone is not an indicator. But this looks like a business strike to me.

"Business strike" as in not a proof, like what you would see in ordinary circulation. I would expect a proof to be more shiny (mirror-like in the flat areas), and I think I see some wear on the eagle's wings, which would come from circulation.

Looks somewhere in the low XF range. It's basically just worth melt, and roll hunters find these all the time.

Always best to remove coin from any holder when taking photos. Much easier to see what is on the coin's surface that way.
