1973 Nickel . Was It Cleaned?

So I found this really shiny Nickel yesterday. I'm wondering if this was cleaned though because it just doesn't look right. The '68 was another cool find since it's just in such good condition for being 50 years old.

I just saw some pics of acid dipped nickels. They kinda resemble what I found actually.

Acid was my first thought, as well. It appears that something etched the surfaces. I guess that it may have been polished after that? I don't know, but it seems like too much work to create an ugly coin.

It may have been buried for some time in acidic soil, dug up and polished clean.

May have been a cup-holder coin swimming in soda pop and crud, then given a wah and wax! With a scrub brush! The 68 through 70 dies were new design and they also used a higher pressure strike those years, why those year's coins have stayed nice.

The 68 is nice and original , on the 73 something reacted on it's skin . No balls ,no errors .
