I purchased six 1 oz 999 silver bars from APMEX and received them today. The plastic that they come in looks sketchy as all to me and I'd like to get some info from you all.

Is the plastic they ship them in good or bad for the silver over time. If not, when I pull them out, what should I put them in?

Why did you buy them?

If primarily for bullion then I don't particularly care how they age.
If primarily for appearance then (for me) the holder is only part of the consideration; storage environment is as important if not more so.

Sweet. I'll leave them in there then. Was just worried that appearance makes a difference.

The soft plastic I've been getting my rounds and bars in appears to be mylar or similar but can't be sure. In any case, they're sealed so it seemed wiser to leave it alone.

You can put it in a hard plastic case. It looks nice when you stack them together.
