Hi,
I know there's nothing exciting about this coin. I can't find any answers on Google but what are the marks around the rim of this coin?
Any light cast on this would be much appreciated?

Thanks :)

Those marks would be described as " PMD" - post mint damage - that is to say someone has done it after it left the mint. I would guess someone messing around in his workshop, or maybe an apprentice metal worker.
No added value I am sorry to report!

Perfect thanks :) I'm not fussed over the value of the coin I just wanted to know who or what could have made the marks.

Thanks :)

It looks too selective to be a result of "random" damage (like getting stuck in a lawn mower), yet is not regular enough to be the result of incidental damage (like getting stuck in a damaged vending machine). I can only conclude it was hand-made, by someone with a sharp tool and way too much spare time on their hands. As for "why", well, you'll have to find them and ask them. Humans are not renowned for their logical, rational behaviour.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
