Boy have things changed the last 40 years , I was looking at a 1969 Red Book, Indian Eagles in Unc 75 dollars , Saints 85 dollars, 1909 svdb 220 unc, a 1918/7 nickel unc $5000. Draped Bust $1 were 650 unc, Bust Halfs late 20-30's 75 unc, Seated halfs 65 dollars in Unc, wouldn't it be nice to buy coins at these prices.

Gold was set at 35 dollars an ounce, gas was 35 cents a gallon, and I was on piece work making between $2.15 to $12 dollars an hour, but most of time closer to $2

I bought a 1929 quarter eagle for 16 dollars in 1960. An 1881 half eagle for 13 dollars. If I had only had the money then I have now and some smarts.

I remember back in 1878 when I decided I'd work 3 jobs and save for my very first Morgan silver dollar !....And a Carson City one at that !.......well ....it took me three years 2 months and five days, but I finally saved the few extra cents each month that I could spare till I could afford it!......
but then my horse died and I had to buy a burro.......so no more Morgan !..........

Sure, but it would be even nicer to buy a convertible Hemi 'Cuda off the lot at original sticker price...

Probably a tenth of what they are today! That $220 09SVDB then is $2200 now.

Approximately 1969, I made $1.65 an hour, minimum wage in Californey, working at Jack-in-the-Box nights while going to school. A Bonus Jack was 69 cents. I paid 24.9 cents a gallon for gas at my favorite station.
