Since posting the Smear Bill I had, I thought I would post my other Error Dollar Bill. Again pulled out of circulation years ago when I worked as a cashier at a gas station / convince store right off an interstate. Not trying to date myself but when I started working there gas was 59.9 cents a gallon. Over the many, many years there, I only pulled 4 error notes. I really do miss that job. I got Sliver coins, Wheat cents and occasionally a United states note, or Sliver certificate. And quite a few of the 1934 and 1950 dated Federal reserve notes. One time a gentleman came through spending $10 Gold certificates, beat up but hey, I got the 3 he spent for Face Value.

But enough of my rambling, to the Picture of a 1977 $1 bill. It has a strip of the front first printing on the reverse side edge. The front has complete edges. I looks like it is transfer from the left side of the front of a $1 bill. I don't know if it was from another bill or somehow from a press. I can only guess at how this happened.

Looks like someone in your area was printing money at the time. Sounds about right for the year you got them. Some one decided to reuse some of the paper.

Wow!
