My question would be how old and what it represents?

Medal or token?

I believe it's brass. Small in size.

Appreciate any help guys.

I believe it is one of many "Remember the Maine" tokens or medals. The hole was probably made for an attachment or ribbon. I have one of the same tokens but don't know any more about it. The sinking of the U.S. ship Maine in Cuba started the Spanish American War.

It may have been a souvenir luggage tag? From a specific vessel.

Just a stab in the dark.

Edit: To give WorldNumis some props here is a picture of the USS Maine.

Wow @worldnumis great stuff, thank you. Great research and lesson in history too for me. That looks like the token. There are few different variations on ebay that look a bit off/ different. As well they seem copper and not brass. But this example in the catalog page looks to be identical.
