to the CCF!

This is a trade token, often issued by bars or saloons. Probably the initials of the person who owned the bar (of the initials of the bar itself) were H. E. J.

Thanks for the replies.

Does somebody have an idea of what the ''2624'' would be referring to? An old zip code?

And would this be pre or post civil war?

Thanks again

There are tokens out there with longer numbers on them that were made for slot machines. Maybe that's what it stands for.

IMHO, this is a 20th century issue, pre-1950. The prospect of attributing a token like this is slim. To my experience, mavericks like this will retail for maybe a $1.

The numbers can refer to the owner of the machine, the location of the machine. IT could be from a slot machine commonly called gum machines, fruit machines or an arcade style machine in a bar or saloon. Generally as been said it might be a one or two of. And unless somebody has family knowledge about granpop's machine biz it will forever remain a maverick token as been stated worth about a .50¢ to $1.00 unless somebody with those initials wants it bad they might pay $2.00
