Clever use of magnets, a battery or even some kind winding mechanism would have been better, just look at some time pieces for last 70 years or so, but anyway for those who love this enjoy it.

I firmly believe I could come up with something better in my garage, if not, the shop where I work.

I have a great idea for the next coins in this theme:
The Ferris Wheel The Roller Coaster Bumper Cars and maybe finish it off with a water slide with actual moving water (pump required)
This would be a hit for sure. Then you have your own amusement park.

MWario listed Carousel Coin on ebay as JUNE PREORDER. How is that possible when the Mint says September, unless..

I find the carousel and the way it moves very lacklustre. I think it would have been much better if the carousel fit the entire edge of the coin. Also, while it is innovative, it doesn't really commemorate anything. I guess the RCM is just making things for the sake of making them.

Quote: it doesn't really commemorate anything. The carousel has slowly evolved around the world since the 18th century. Excerpt from Wikipedia: "By the early 18th century carousels were being built and operated at various fairs and gatherings in central Europe and England. Animals and mechanisms would be crafted during the winter months and the family and workers would go touring in their wagon train through the region, operating their large menagerie carousel at various venues. Makers included Heyn in Germany and Bayol in France. These early carousels had no platforms; the animals would hang from chains and fly out from the centrifugal force of the spinning mechanism. They were often powered by animals walking in a circle or people pulling a rope or cranking." The carousel is timeless. For myself, it commemorates happy childhood memories of ice cream waffles and amusement park rides.

There is an carousel coin on ebay auction by West Edmonton Coins currently at $760, with 5 days to go. Interesting to see how high it goes.

@MoneyPenney
It is now at $920.00 with 4 days left. This is a nice surprise. Curious to see how high this will go in the end. It appears that there are 2 bidders fighting for it.

Just received shipping notice from my coin dealer and my antique carousel coin is on its way!! Cannot wait to see.
Also, take a look at CCF new video, on this forum, with Jamie Desrochers and Erica Mega discussing new June 2018 releases and at the 2:32 mark they are talking and showing the carousel coin. The carousel also moves not just by using the magnet underneath buy also by placing it about a half inch away from the dome structure. Go and see what I mean.

I've heard, it suppose to be 'fight' between dealers over the Carousel coins, that offered by The Shopping Channel.
Did someone watch this - what was the price, how many coins did they have?

The RCM is headed into the way of The Franklin Mint with some of the products its putting out. The end result unfortunately will be the same. The premium product silver market is growing and a better way to go at the moment.
