1982 P LMC Large Date, Was Finning The Culprit In Cutting Off Some Devices?

I found this 1982 P large date LMC with finning. Upon looking further I noticed that the I and N were partially cut off and the G and the O in GOD were partially cut off at the tops as well. Was finning the culprit? Insight please.
