Quote: Nice 59-D - looks "proofy" ! I noticed that too - the coin almost looks like a Proof. For comparison, I took out the Lincoln Wheat cent of my type set and it's not quite as reflective. Same grade and color designation, but without the proof-like surfaces. I wonder if anything changed in the minting process between 1944 and 1959 that would have caused this difference. 1944-S Lincoln Wheat:
