So the loonie is struck on a round planchet ?

It is the size of a toonie so maybe it was cut using the toonie mould? no idea how this happened. got the coin by luck.

What is it weight, could you photo it alongside a pre 2012 loonie that would help

Can't see how it can be struck on a larger planchet.
It would not fit in a Loonie collar.
Is it possible a ring around the coin was added later?
Hope some of our experts have an answer.

Just a guess but It looks like a bezel around a loonie to me.
if you look to the top of the coin you can see where the ring was attacked or was to be attached.
Just what are the measurements and weight anyway?

Looks like it was mounted on/in a ring or bezel.
