I originally thought this to be a Dryer Coin,But the edge is perfectly square. The Dryer Coins I've come across the edge is rounded. So did somebody flare the edge somehow? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Your suspicions are correct. The coin was altered outside the Mint. The dime was rolled and squeezed in the horizontal plane.

That's what I thought. But I'm still going to keep this little thing even though it's worth a dime.

I am thinking that this is a spooned coin, rather than a Dryer Coin. Worth face value, but you keep it anyway.
