Came across this quarter today at yardsale , it looks like it has a bit of gold at ths top need some opinions please and thank you.

It looks like Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint). This is just a damaged Quarter. You can see the pushed in and flattened metal on the rim.

Definitely PMD damage was done by an electrical source. At least the brass bead on the edge.
