Now that's a nice raw nickel, i'd be happy to see that in mine! Except...ooooooooo :{( I'd give it to ya, but a real purist wouldn't! Are you using just an incandescent lamp for your lighting? Could be why the orange, get some LED's may help.

It's my iPhone setting by the window lol. Not very professional. I thought it was a ding but the steps actually go through and there is no apparent line break. But I don't know. I see some that get FS and I can't figure out how. Thanks for the feedback I truly appreciate it.

I had bought a grab lot of 100 MS nickels still in cello (1968-2007)just as a test to see on the FS's. Of all these I had five candidates until the scope...all failed! It is harder than ya think to find them, these were mint packed! Not a one. I do like yours, good pick on it. Seems to be a early die state on both sides, but not sure if that orange peel on reverse id as severe as it looks, that's odd for having good steps, usually shows a later die state than it appears, a darn good strike I guess.

I think it is at least MS-65, maybe up to 66 on a good day. I do think you may get a TPG to label it FS. Personally, the area Crazyb0 circled bothers me, but it may just be the pic. Nice coin!

I think PCGS will give you FS. I noticed they tend to treat older nickels slightly differently versus newer "modern" years such as mid 1980's to now. My first words were WOW, 6FS on a 1940s nickel but I also recognize at times the Mints cared about quality. If you did the acetone bath to take some of the surface dirt off, this thing might shine. Two days ago my grades just came in on 4 nickels from PCGS and these are nickels that I had acetone dipped. All had respectable grades 65 and 66, with FS.
