I just received my first 5g Pamp platinum bar. I noticed the serial # on the packaging looks crooked and that there is also a bubble in the packaging around the bar. Does this look fake or legit to you guys?

Where did you purchase the bar from? If it was from a reputable precious metals dealer, it should be all right. If you got it off ebay, some suspicion might be warranted.

Off ebay but it was from a high rated seller. He had over 1200 sales with only positive feedback. Not a single negative feedback on his account.

Both the bar and the holder look legit.
I don't see any of the usual markers
indicating it is counterfeit.
What is the name of the seller?
I will check to see if he has any previous
record of selling fakes.

PS-
Just because a seller has a 100% feedback does
not mean he doesn't sell counterfeits.
There are many sellers of fake coins and bars
out there with good feedbacks.

Very true. I think when buying bullion on ebay, it's wise to stick to the big names like APMEX. Lest you run into someone selling fake bullion that accumulated a slew of positive feedbacks from buying 99 cent items or something.

Bring it to LCS and ask them to verify it.

Looks ok. The bubbling is just the protective plastic film they put on the front of the card to protect it from scratches. You can peel it off if it bugs you. The film eventually lifts away from the card over time. It's not meant to be permanent.

Hi Canada4ever4

Your platinum bar does look like the real deal. As said above, the plastic film is just to protect the card. Although the serial number is sideways, it doesn't stand out to be counterfeit. If unsure, you can contact PAMP directly or bring it to any high dealer LCS that may have more of these to compare it to.
