Hi, I bought some steelies recently and some are in really nice condition. I'm wondering how to price them. I have a bunch that are the normal dirty color, and I figure I could ask a dollar at a flea market or maybe ebay? Then maybe $2 for the nice shiny ones? Thanks.

My pictures suck. I don't know how to fix that. And they rotate when I upload them. Sorry, it's frustrating to me too.

Need to crop pics. Are the edges shiny? These are known to be re-plated.

You can rotate and crop the pics on the CCF's Free Image Optimizer.

I use the free image optimizer and I am cropping them. I don't have the option to rotate. I'm using an older iPhone.

They don't look plated. I got the collection from someone who died who had a lot of stuff from Barber coins on. There were 5 and 1/2 rolls of steelies, and one roll was all good coins.
Rest in Peace

It's very difficult to grade from those photos, as I'm sure you know.

Steel cents are very common in all grades up to MS 66. At MS 67 you finally break the $100 Mark.

I've looked through tens of thousands of steel cents, including original rolls, and I've never found a single MS 67.

You would have a lot of competition selling these on ebay, as their are zillions of them.

Most untreated MS examples won't sell easily above $1.00, and it would take forever to find 50 collectors who need one.

Yeah, the rotate tool pops up when you hover the mouse over the left top corner. Not sure how to do that on an iPhone.

Thank you for the info moxking. My level of grading ability is not as advanced as yours.

Also, I realized I didn't crop this photo. This was intentional though, so you could see some of the little stacks of dirty cents and good ones.

And thanks errors. I have 50 good Philadelphia 1943 cents.

I have well over 4,000 of them. Many are in plastic rolls from way, way back. I've never thought of them as worth a lot since there are so many available everywhere.

As one of the most hoarded coins in history, they hold little value even in fairly high grades. Most non-collectors that have them think they are worth a lot of money - as in hundreds of dollars each. I've educated a lot of people over the years.

Separate out the best 3 you can find and post some good pictures of them. If you can hit 63 and higher, there is some value there, $5-20 each depending on grade.
